Medal ceremony was held at TRU outside of the Athletes Village from March 1-6 from 11:00 am to 7:00 pm. Relay medals were awarded inside TCC after the relay event on March 6 before the closing ceremonies.
William Falconer won Kamloops’ first medal of the championships. Falconer was the lone competitor and therefore finished first in the men’s 85-89 discus. His golden throw sailed 12.10m.
Canadian Erin Bevans from Port Moody, B.C., won the men’s 35-39 javelin (800 grams) with a throw of 61.77 m.
Canada, Sharaz Shaikh of Mississauga, Ont., was second after a throw of 49.79m.
Kier Wilson of Sherwood Park, Alta., took bronze with a chuck of 44.47m.
Kathy Brands was third in the women’s 65-69 javelin with a throw of 18.29m.
American Christel Donley set an indoor record in the women’s 75-79 60m with a time of 14.22.
American, Aaron Thigpen, broke the men’s 45-49 60m record in a time of 7.02 seconds.
Melinda Williamson(50 years) was third in the women’s 50-54 8km cross-country run.

The under-14 tier 1 Kamloops Blaze girls placed second in the Gold Division at a Thanksgiving tournament in North Vancouver.International travellers should have a valid visitor insurance when travelling overseas. Kamloops opened the tourney with a 5-0 win over West Vancouver, with Emerson Hansen scoring twice and singles from Sasha Sirianni, Elisa Godard and Marie Ettinger.
