It is possible to use one’s own implements at the 2010 Kamloops World Masters Indoor Championships but the equipment must be checked in by the organizing committee.
The LOC has a selection of throwing implements available for the competitors in all the throwing events (Javelin, Discus, Shot, Weight, Hammer). The implements will meet international criteria. We can not guarantee that implements of any specific brand will be available in the competition.
In the Indoor Shot Put competition 3, 4 and 5kg outdoor shots and 6kg and 7.26kg indoor hard shell shots will only be allowed. Weight Throw will only use the indoor weight throw.

The Kamloops organizing committee has borrowed extra poles and now have a wide selection of poles available. We will be charging a $10 user fee to each athlete using the committee’s poles. You must pay your fee at the LOC Desk in The 2010 Centre, next to the Registration Desks. On payment of the fee you will receive a card which will allow you the use of the poles during practice and competition. An equipment manager will ask you to present your cards at the start of the session. This fee does not guarantee you exclusive use of a particular pole. You may have to share during competition.
On the evening prior to each pole vaulting age group event we will be offering a practice session. These times will be available when you arrive.

Polar Storm, an evening of arctic majesty! Winter is not just cold, there is endless beauty hidden within the white wonders of the arctic. Let us dazzle you with the beauty of ice and snow.
While you are here, experience some of the things that make a polar storm so inviting. Snowmobiles, dog sleds and of course, our Royal Canadian Mounted Police will offer a great opportunity for some truly Canadian photos. Look into the sky to view Aurora Borealis or the Northern Lights, visit the Wolf Den Bar to taste some ice wine or Canadian brews, and try some of the hearty foods that will warm you up during even the coldest of storms. The menu will be roast beef on a bun, vegetarian chili, corn bread, salad and dessert.

The Billy Miner's Saloon – opens at 12:00h (12 noon) Located in the Campus Activity Centre at Thompson Rivers University, a 5 minute walk from the Field House, the Saloon is open to everyone with an Accreditation Badge.
Known as one of Canada's most notable bandits, Bill Miner robbed the Canadian Pacific Railway twice in the early 1900's. After the second robbery, the RCMP were hot on his heels so he hid in Kamloops for three years before being caught. He was known as a peaceful soul by both his friends and the jailers who watched over him. The Billy Miner Saloon will offer the best of the old west, with each night offering something a little different.
Monday Night: will be an old fashioned Hoe Down with entertainment. Bring your dancing shoes, we will offer a brief line dancing lesson so that you can get right into the country spirit. Don't miss out, it will be a knee slapping, heel kicking good time!
Tuesday Night: will give a slightly different country experience with our very own Barn Dance. Come and experience how the cowboys relax after a long day of working hard. Don't put away those dancing shoes as we are going to be square dancing the night away to bluegrass music. With banjos, ukuleles and guitars your feet are sure to be moving. This music is also great to sit listen to while socializing with friends.
Wednesday Night: Athletes Party - doors open at 6pm. A ticket must be purchased for the Athletes Party. Tickets will be available until 6pm March 1 at the LOC Desk.
Thursday Night: will be a wild night in the Wild, Wild West. Be prepared! You might just encounter Billy Miner and his posse of train bandits. Poker, drinks and friends will be plentiful throughout the evening. The Billy Miner Saloon will be entertaining Wild, Wild West style with Can Can dancers and singers.
Friday Night: is an evening of casual elegance with our Denim to Diamonds evening. It will be a red carpet affair, but don't lose that denim. We will be elegant in a casual way! An evening of winding down after a busy week, reminiscing with friends.
