Kamloops' accommodation choices will suit the style and budget of every guest, and range from boutique inns and motels, to brand name hotels. A large scale, secured room block with special World Masters room rates is in place for the duration of the 2010 World Masters Indoor Championships. The World Masters room rates and block are secured until the block is filled and will be released February 1st, 2010 should the secured rooms not be reserved.

All reservation requests are to be completed directly with the property of your choice and please make sure to mention that you are coming to Kamloops for the 2010 World Masters Indoor Championships when reserving your room or check the World Masters Room Block box on the online reservation request webpage. An advanced search option tool is located at the bottom of the accommodation listing page. This will assist you in short listing properties by finding specific amenities provided at each property.

The Tournament Capital Center (Stadia Venue) is no more than a 15 minute drive from any accommodations. An interactive Google map will show the location of each property and pinpoint where the indoor track (TCC) and the staging areas for the non-stadia events are held.

• Crossing the Canada/USA Border Updates
The WHTI (Western Hemisphere Travel Initiative) Final Rule requires travelers “to present a passport or other approved secure document denoting citizenship and identity for all land and sea travel into the United States.” The new requirements are effective June 1, 2009. In addition to the passport, acceptable documents include a valid NEXUS Air Card or Merchant Mariner Document (MMD) will be acceptable. Also, an Enhanced Drivers License is accepted (currently only Washington State and the Province of British Columbia is issuing them, however). All goods must be declared. Wearing apparel and personal goods for use by visitors are permitted free of duty. Revolvers, pistols, and other fi rearms are prohibited entry into Canada. All weapons must be declared.


• Air Travel
A passport-only requirement will is applicable to all travelers - including returning US citizens - entering the US by air from the Western Hemisphere, (went into effect on January 23, 2007). This new requirement includes Canadians and others who have previously been exempt from having to carry a passport.


• Sea & Land Travel
The new requirement for a passport or other secure travel document will be enforced for Western Hemisphere travel into the US by sea (cruise) or land at some point prior to June 1, 2009.

1. Travel between all hotels listed in the 2010 World Masters Accommodation Reservation Service, the Fieldhouse and the Athletes' Village.
2. Service during competition hours and until the Athletes' Village closes in the evening.
3. Travel to and from the Athletes' Party on Wednesday, March 3, at Interior Savings Centre, in the city's downtown core.
4. For Athletes competing in non-stadia events, the Shuttle Bus system provides transportation to venues on the day of their competitions.
   Note: For an additional $10, Athletes also may purchase a bus trip to and from their venues for site viewing on the day prior to their competitions.
